Im Mai 2000 gab Britney JIVE ein exclusiv Interview in Japan:
Interview from Jive Records in Japan (Mai 2000)
1. It has been almost a year since your last trip to Japan. How is it to be back?
What do you remember most?
"It's so wonderful to be back. We went out last night and saw a bit of the town and
it is so beautiful and exciting. The thing I really remember most is that the people here
are always so sweet to me. I am so excited to come back and do a tour here in the
future!"
2. Everyone loves your "Oops" video. How did you come up with this
idea???
"I loved the futuristic idea of me going to Mars. I think everyone dreams about that
and I don't think it has been used for a video before so I thought it would be very cool.
And it was fun to incorporate all the dancing."
3. How was working with Mutt Lange & Shania Twain on "Don't let me the
last to know"?
"This is actually my favourite track on the album. I feel honoured that Mutt Lange
& Shania Twain both wrote this song for me. I flew to their house in Switzerland to
record the track and it was so fabulous working together with Mutt Lange as a producer.
There is a wall in his house with all the pictures of everyone he has ever worked with and
it was so great to see all those famous people, my idols, and realise what a blessing it
is to work with this brilliant man!"
4. Tell us about how you wrote "Dear Diary".
"Well I've been writing songs for years in my head. Sitting on busses and everywhere
I go I always have melodies running through my head. I used to write them down in my diary
and show them to my friends and to the producers I work with. And now, to actually have
one on my record is a dream come true. I hope you all like it."
5. One of your new songs on the "Oops" album is titled
"Stronger." How much "Stronger" do you feel now compared to your debut
one year ago and is this reflected in the song?
"I think having been in this business during the past year, I have a lot more
knowledge and experience. And now being older I think I am a much stronger person. I think
when you experience things in your life, dealing with both good and bad things, you just
become stronger in so many ways."
